It all happened one fine office day morning when certain things would have been best had they not happened at all. Yet due to a certain quirkiness of nature when fate joined hands with embarrassment things definitely seem to be plotting against your favor. Everything seemed perfectly normal other than being part of a group with fresh new faces and being with people to whom before I had just contended to saying a mere hi or hello. They seemed nice. And today while dragging the chair from one end of the room to another chair handle in one hand and mobile phone in another immediately rang a tamil kooth song. I realized it was coming (that loud blaring cacophony , this time) from none other than my cell phone. Having been provided by a nokia music express by the employers I had put it to use by downloading a few songs first by Bluetooth from a fellow colleague which were in tamil. In sudden alarm, I pressed a couple of buttons at the side as I did not know how to mute it. There was a momentary pause… And then came the next loud tamil koothu BEFORE I COULD EVEN HEAVE A SIGH OF RELIEF. And then I did what short cut stereotypical me would do in such a situation. Instantly pressed the only button which would save me from more embarrassment. The switch off phone J . And I calmly dragged back my chair to the place it was supposed to be lodged.
